The dates for sales packs and Smart Data

From the Home buying and selling reform roadmap (Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, June 2026).

  • Now Sales pack information can be provided voluntarily.
  • 2027 Sales packs and digital logbooks start to be required in some government home ownership schemes. The government also plans to consult on a Smart Data scheme for the property sector and to deliver a data standards accreditation scheme.
  • By the end of this Parliament Legislation to require sales packs before a property is listed, when parliamentary time allows.

The roadmap expects most measures to apply in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Scotland has its own system.

What does all of this mean for your mortgage journey?

Timing one path by hand is a good start. A Pathfinder workshop takes the same approach across your whole journey, with the people who run it. It models what transformation could deliver in speed to offer, speed to completion, fall-through reduction and lending capacity released, where your data allows.

With Pathfinder, you can see where value is trapped across the mortgage journey, test how to unlock it, and model the impact before you invest.

The workshop runs for two hours at your offices. We prepare with information you already hold, and Pathfinder needs no applicant or customer personal data.
